Recession Prompts 13% of Consumers to Ditch Life Cover

Figures released by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) show a 13% drop in the number of people with Life Insurance compared to the number of people before the recession began. Fears about the recession and the lack of job security and income have caused people to either cancel their existing policies or simply not take the policies in the first place.

Although life insurance may seem like a luxury insurance extra that can be cancelled during difficult financial times, insurers warn against it as it does offer valuable financial protection should the worst happen and you die or contract a critical illness.
