Pound Hits 2009 High Against EuroThe pound sterling has reached its highest level against the Euro this afternoon since the start of 2009 leading to speculation the the worst of the UK's recession may now be over. The exchange rate earlier reached a 2009 high of 1.1758 Euro's per pound. The National Institute of Economic and Social Research suggested the reason for the stronger pound was due to economic growth during April and May 2009 and the greater political stability the UK has seen over the past few days.
