Latest studies reveal that the average British home is costing £18,000 per year to run in bills. This takes into consideration your mortgage, food costs, credit cards and loan payments, utility bills, council tax, insurance, phone, tv and broadband costs and other regular outgoings adding up to just over £18000 per annum on average. 

The study also revealed that 50% of people are struggling to pay these bills and that 17% of people are prepared to miss payments and ignore the bills they should be paying. The data does show however, that people are more likely to shop around for cheaper better deals nowdays and make the most of the best deals to be had on offer.
